Why Choose Meadows?

Child centred approach

When choosing a pre-school parents want to make an informed decision.
Crucial to that is understanding what learning activities and ethos are offered. We at Meadows Pre-School passionately believe in following a curriculum lead approach.

A pre-school should embrace these principles and deliver a teacher lead experience to children by well trained and fully qualified staff. All staff  have attained Fetac Level 6 in childcare. To ensure our staff have the latest skills required we reinforce qualifications by attending regular childcare training sessions. This keeps skills up to-date and helps to motivate our staff. These courses cover everything from child protection and curriculum development to the latest first aid.

Without this framework anything else is just childcare without the vital learning opportunities and exploration that young children desire.

Our approach will prime pre-school children for "Big School" or primary school. The specific Curriculum we implement fully at Meadows Preschool is called "Aistear". It was developed by The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). It brings together the latest early childcare research both nationally and internationally. The word Aistear is the Irish word for journey and was chosen because early childhood marks the beginning of children's lifelong learning journeys.

The principles of Aistear start at birth but really come into play at pre-school age. The aim of Aistear is to help every child to grow and develop as a competent and confident learner. Aistear, early childhood care and education must support a child’s sense of:

  • Well-being

  • Identify and belonging

  • Exploring and thinking

  • Communication

We believe we can deliver this quality experience, because we are small but have big ideas. We are open and transparent and make all HSE school inspection reports available to parents

The best way of learning about the high standards we provide for pre-school education. Is to read what parents say who's children have attended our pre-school.
